Who We Are

At Haven Financial Services, we have built a culture that walks the walk on respecting work life balance. When the company was built in 2014, the idea was to get away from the corporate mentality of the eight to five grind. Rather we understood that high value service can be provided in a fluid form which aligns with the creative owners we work with. 

We have learned to build systems that allow us to stay lean and focused and intend to keep it that way. We have a team that completely supports each other, enjoys collaboration, and kicks butt during our team games each month. 

The idea was to build a company with people that deliver good work and are also awesome human beings to work with. The outcome can’t be beat.

Khristine Valdez

Founder & CEO

Khristine launched Haven Financial Services as she saw a need for Executive and Management accounting services from the local companies in Orange County and built a company that focuses on a high quality of financial service. Previously, Khristine was a CFO for Sail Venture Partners, Teles Properties and the McMonigle Group. Khristine was also a CPA providing tax and audit services, primarily in the Real Estate and Non-Profit Industries. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Cal State Fullerton, and obtained her CPA license in Wisconsin. In her free time she enjoys movies with her family, golf, tennis and music.

Megan Holyoak-Shaw


Megan grew up in southern California, and got her bachelor’s degree from Cal State Fullerton, with a double major in Accounting and Management Information Systems. While in school she joined a small public accounting firm, gaining experience with payroll and PR taxes, sales tax, and individual and corporate income taxes. In 2003 she took a position as Controller with TrafFix Devices, Inc., a manufacturing firm in San Clemente where she worked for eighteen years. She gained experience in the private sector in a fast paced, growing company, being part of the management team and power user for the ERP systems. Megan works to fund her many hobbies (gardening, sewing, camping, and newly paddleboarding), and loves spending time with her three grown children, two grandchildren, two dogs and a cat.

Nadia Milner

Staff Accountant

Nadia has worked for multi-million dollar companies handling all their financial needs since 1998. She has worked at the LA Fitness Corporate office in Irvine where she was responsible for collecting over 50 million dollars, encompassing 12 projects simultaneously. From there, Nadia went on to providing bookkeeping services on her own and then joined the Haven team in 2019. Nadia enjoys spending time with her two daughters and her friends.

Amy Perez

Operations Manager

Amy graduated from Webster University with a Bachelor’s Degree, and a minor in Marketing. Prior to joining the Haven team, she held positions at Epson America, Inc. and Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A. Headquarters, in the Marketing Department. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and camping with her husband and two sons. She also likes to swim, bike and run.

Vanesa Gaviola

Staff Accountant

Vanesa is originally from the Philippines and graduated from Polytechnic University of the Philippines with a degree in Accountancy. After graduating she joined an Accounting and Auditing Firm for more than 6 years, where she was able to handle PEZA companies. She passed the Civil Service Examination and obtained the Certified Tax Technician, QuickBooks Pro-Advisor and Xero Advisor Certification. Also, she previously worked as a Senior Associate in a BPO and outsourcing company where she was able to work with international clients. In her free time, she enjoys watching movies and series with family, reading books, drawing, and singing.


Rachel Erin Flores

Staff Accountant

Erin graduated from Tomas Del Rosario College with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting. After graduating, she obtained her CPA license in the Philippines. She held a contractual position in a government agency to aid ITs from Technecrest team in implementing a software to be primarily used by the agency in their end-to-end accounting process. Prior to joining the Haven team, she worked as a Senior CPA in a BPO company where she provided outsourced accounting services to SMEs and handled multiple accounts for-profit and nonprofit entities. In her free time, she enjoys family bonding, playing with her pets and outdoor activities.
